The term “idol” is used in South Korea to call KPop superstars. That is why we often hear them say such during shows and etc. Sandara Park has a special place in every Filipino fangirl/fanboy’s heart because Sandara grew up here and also became a public figure here before she became a superstar in South Korea.
Sandara’s image in South Korea is a little far from her image in the Philippines. In our country, she’s known for being a comedian and that’s basically the focus of her career then. Now, in South Korea, she’s known as a rapper/goddess for one of the most famous KPop groups in the world, 2NE1. I was so starstruck when I saw her. If only I got to have a conversation with her, I would have asked her about working for YG Entertainment, having BIGBANG as her colleague ( HEHE ), and other idol stuff.
A little story on how I go to be part of this presscon. I was having dinner with my friends, Yuki Tansengco and Jaz Reyes. KPop was suddenly brought up and she told me about this event and that she won’t be able to go, so she asked me if I can sub for her, of course said yes right away. I love having these kinds of opportunity because it feels very rewarding as a fan girl, it’s a different kind of happiness when I get to experience these things.
On the event, I arrived quite early, early enough to get me good seats. The event was hosted by Chino Lui Pio, they talked about a lot of things. Sandara discussed about what she loves most about the Philippines, her new line in Penshoppe (Which looks amazing by the way), how she gets styled as 2NE1′s Dara, and she even mentioned Descendants of the Sun. Sandara also mentioned wanting to work with Vice Ganda for a movie if given a chance.
